My Best Friend

Yesterday was my best friend's (The Cat and the Cow) Birthday!!

She is a very special one indeed and I am blessed beyond belief to have her in my life. She is such fun to be around and makes life so enjoyable. She is an amazing wife and mother and I hope to be like her when I have my own family someday.

The Body Electric and I decided to throw a little back patio birthday/goodbye apartments party for her! K and A have been living in the same apartment complex for the past few years and A will be moving to a house this next week. Over the past year and a half I have probably spent more time in that complex than I have in my own home. So we needed one last hoorah on the back patio.

Weekend in the mountains

A friend and I are spending the weekend up at her parents cabin in the mountains. Its a gorgeous 5 bedroom cabin that they finished building in the beginning of summer. Its wonderful to be spending my last weekend before the school year starts up here. We arrived last night and spent time in the spa outside, star gazing and sipping on wine. We had a good nights sleep, woke up and made a good breakfast which we enjoyed on the back porch.

However, around noon my friend started to not feel well and has been in bed ever since. So I've been up here without a car or phone service trying to find ways to entertain myself. So what better thing to do than an outfit post?

Thrift store prints and summer dresses

Its about time for an update and my dear Lady K has made that known :)

Summer is coming to an end and so is my ample amount of free time. I go back for a new semester and and new year at the elementary school I work at on monday.

The past few weeks I've found some adorable decor at thrift stores and changed my wall up at bit. Here is the progress thus far:

I'm excited for fall but I'm already starting to miss all my summer dresses. It was pretty hot today so I wore a lovely lightweight thrift store dress a friend recently gave to me:

I made my first Etsy sale today! Which is exciting for me because I just started selling last week.

I sold this little Gem to a lovely lady for her birthday party next month.

I added more things today!

I'm having fun with it so far, its keeping me busy which I like.

Redecorating

I decided today that it is time to redecorate a wall in my room. My room is pretty small and I like the way I have decorated the other three walls, but I've never been fully sold on this wall:

Its not a big space, but it defiantly has potential.

So I've been searching for inspiration today:

This last one is my favorite. I have lots of different fabrics and prints that need a frame.

Now I must be on hunt for thrift store fames! I'm excited to be decorating again, since I don't have my own place this small little room has been my only outlet.

Going through big changes in my life, so I decided it was time to start a blog.

My name is Whitney, I'm in my early 20's, I have amazing friends, an amazing family, I love clothes and all things girly.

And today....I found my Conair hot rollers from 7th grade.

I really like curling my hair with a curling iron, but get rather impatient with how long it takes. I figured this would be the perfect solution. Plus, getting to walk around looking like a 70 year old lady for a half an hour is always fun.

I was pretty pleased with the results, my hair was very curly when I took out the curlers but I tamed it down with some bobbie-pins and hair spray.
